Dr Areti Metuamate is a senior executive in the tertiary education sector in Australia and previously held the role of chief executive of Te Kupenga Catholic Leadership Institute, where he continues to be a consultant. Dr Metuamate has previously worked in Parliament and the Office of Treaty Settlements, and is a board member of Ako Matatupu Teach First NZ, Nga Taonga Sound and Vision, and the Raukawa ki te Tonga Trust Board. He has also served on the board of trustees in three different Catholic schools. Dr Metuamate is married to Aboriginal academic, Dr Jessa Rogers, and in their blended family have three sons and four godchildren. They spend time living and working between both Aotearoa and Australia.
